The residents' association local to the Annex neighbourhood in which KESKUS International Estonian Centre will be located, has nothing but praise for the KESKUS project, noting in its newsletter that:
"an exquisite structure is about to rise in the Annex on Madison Avenue just opposite Paul Martel Park. What is presently an urban heat island (aka a parking lot) is soon to be replaced with a 3-storey architectural jewel complete with green roof, courtyard bistro, and through-block connection between Madison and Huron."
KESKUS is indeed readying to break ground! Milestones have been met and the necessary approvals and clearances for this architecturally significant building are coming in. Given the build is over TTC subway tunnels, monitoring equipment is being installed in the tunnels in preparation for construction.
Once the final steps are completed construction will commence. The caisson machines, the rebar, all is ordered and standing by! Please sign up for the KESKUS newsletter so that you will receive project news firsthand and right away.
