Update / Teade # 276

KESKUS construction proceeding inside the burrito wrap and outside

Watch this 1-minute video to see construction progress!

Glazing on the ground floor is pretty much completed - some of the corner glazing and the doors remain on the to-do list as the steel channels are fine-tuned as seen in the video.

On the rooftop, the Garden Lobby is getting enclosed and the rooftop built out in order to receive the generator and condensing units that serve tenanted spaces. The work done to receive the main units on the rooftop is completed. The units themselves are received and ready to be installed on site. The sloped insulation for under the rooftop membrane for the terrace and garden will get underway shortly. Peamiste seadmete paigaldamiseks vajalikud ettevalmistustööd katusel on lõpetatud. Seadmed ise on saabunud, on hoiul ja valmis objektile paigaldamiseks. Varsti algab ka kaldus soojustuse paigaldamine terrassi ja aia all oleva katusemembraani tarvis.

Colour samples for the stucco exterior cladding on the south, east and north faces of the building are in review with Kongats Architects. /// Hoone lõuna-, ida- ja põhjapoolsete fassaadide krohvkatte värvinäidised on läbivaatamisel Kongats Architectsi firma valvsa silma all.

Dolomite from Kaarma, Saaremaa, with two different shades of fill for the engravings - confirmation of materials is now complete!

Paver stone materials are confirmed, and are now being quarried in Saaremaa, Estonia: a layer of Estonia will cover the courtyard and rooftop. For your opportunity to purchase an engraved paver stone that tells the story of your family's Pathway to Freedom, please go to the estoniancentre.ca website and click the link at the top of the page.

The horrifyingly messy spray fireproofing is well underway in the enclosed and heated core of the building, and will continue/resume to the unheated areas as the weather warms.

Interior work continues throughout the building with mechanical and electrical work. /// Siseruumides jätkuvad kogu hoones mehaanilised ja elektritööd.

KESKUS International Estonian Centre in downtown Toronto will be a dynamic hub showcasing our rich heritage and promoting Estonian innovation. It will be a vibrant gathering place for Estonians of all generations and backgrounds to connect, celebrate, and share our culture and achievements with each other and the world.
