Construction update April 2025

Update / Teade # 243

Crane for erecting steel arrives, heritage house restoration, steel beams land on site

The crane to install the over 1000 pieces of steel, arrived to site at the end of March and was set up on site. The first of April saw the first of the steel arrive and start to be hoisted and installed - more on that in the next month's update - please follow the KESKUS social media channels for more real time updates. /// Kraana terase paigaldamiseks saabus objektile märtsi lõpus ja sai üles seatud. Esimesel aprillil jõudis teras objektile ja poste hakati paigaldama – sellest lähemalt järgmise kuu uudiskirjas – reaalajas uudiste saamiseks jälgige KESKUSe sotsiaalmeedia kanaleid.

The heritage wing of KESKUS (formerly known as 11 Madison Avenue), continues with brick and stone remediation work behind the heat-retention wrap. The replacement brick is matching beautifully and the Grand Dame of Madison will emerge from behind the scaffolding later this summer in full glory. /// Muinsuskaitse all oleval KESKUSe tiival, endise aadressiga 11 Madison Avenue, jätkavad telliste ja kivide restaureerimistööd soojust hoidva ümbrise taga. Asendus telliskivi on oskuslikult sobitatud ja Madisoni "Grand Dame" avaldab end hiljem sel suvel ilmudes täies hiilguses tellingute tagant välja.

In preparation for the steel, the retention bases for the columns that accommodate the vibration isolation are getting ground and welded on an as-needed basis, to accept not just the columns but the also the absorption pads sandwiched in between. ///Terase ettevalmistamisel keevitatakse vibratsiooniisolatsiooniga kinnitusalused pärast lihvimist, et mitte ainult sambad, vaid ka nende vahele jäävad neeldumispadjad vastu võtta.

Inside, work continues in the basement area behind the heritage house with electrical and mechanical system installations. /// Keldrikorrusel soojas, jätkuvad elektri- ja mehaaniliste süsteemide paigaldustööd.

TTC's is progressing its waterproofing and remediation work of the eastern portion of the tunnels that are now under grade beams. This work continues independently of the KESKUS overall schedule.   TTC on tunnelite idapoolse osa hüdroisolatsiooniks ja korrastamiseks, mis toimub talade all ja ei mõjuta KESKUSE üldgraafikut.
