KESKfEST may be wrapping up, but the conversation is just getting started. After days of meeting, celebrating and reconnecting with Estonians from around the world, Uued Tuuled is our chance to come together one more time before everyone heads home—and ask a bigger question: What do we do with all of this energy next?

This is not a lecture, and it is not your typical conference panel. Uued Tuuled is an open, youth-led conversation about the future we are stepping into together. Join Minna-Liisa Herman, Karl Vilhelm Valter, Kaisa Kasekamp, Oliver Reimann, our international Youth Delegates, and young people from across the Estonian diaspora for a lively discussion where everyone in the room is invited to take part.

Together, we will explore what it means for a new generation of global Estonians to step up to the helm.

How can young people living around the world contribute to Estonia’s security and resilience? What roles can defence, emerging technology and STEM play? How do culture, education and identity keep a small nation strong? And how can the connections we make at KESKfEST stay vibrant until the next time we meet?

There is no single answer, and that is the point! Uued Tuuled is about bringing different perspectives into the same room, asking ambitious questions, exchanging ideas and shaping what comes next.

Because the future of the global Estonian community will not be built by one person, one organization or one country. It will be built by people who know each other, stay connected and choose to step forward, wherever we may live.

Who you’ll get to chat to:

Minna-Liisa Herman, working at Estonia’s Ministry of Defence, helps strengthen national resilience and public readiness. A University of Tartu graduate, she also co-founded Ela, an event-discovery app she describes a “Tinder for events, because every Estonian needs a startup, right?”

Karl Vilhelm Valter moves between physics, deep tech and music. A PhD student at the University of Tartu, he works with GScan on cutting-edge imaging technology and is also a former Rakett 69 winner. When he’s not researching, Valter performs with Estonian funk-rock band Arg Part as their lead-singer.

Kaisa Kasekamp is helping connect the next generation of Estonians around the world. A University of Toronto graduate and President of the Estonian Worldwide Youth Network (ÜENV), she brings together young people across borders through community, culture and global collaboration.

Oliver Reimann is part of a new generation shaping Estonian theatre. A graduate of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre’s Drama School, he has already directed productions at the Estonian Drama Theatre and is passionate about making Estonian-language theatre exciting and relevant for younger audiences.

Our Global Youth Delegates bring an eclectic mix of experience—from engineering, law and urban planning to art, fashion, and media. Together, they offer a snapshot of just how many different paths the next generation of global Estonians is already taking.
